Ghost Stories and Smores

Eva Mahn sits by the campfire looking around at the surroundings of the dark camp, sorting out the fire she gives it a poke with a long twig as it crackles and gives off it smokey earthy scent. smiling to herself she moves the crate of beer with a few bottles of honey mead and of course the supplies for Smores and hot chocolate.

Soon she settles down and waits to see if anyone will join her for a time at the campfire. giving the age old tradition of Ghost stories and smores by the firelight.

Meg joins, sitting near Ev with a cup of hot chocolate.

Eva smiles to Meg softly.

"Hey, fancy coming to tell ghost stories?"

She reaches and pulls a small bottle of mead and pours herself some into a wooden cup.

Meg smiles amiably, "I'm not sure I can offer much in the way of a story, but I can try."

Eva chuckles softly as she has a sip of her mead,

"i wouldn't worry.. i suck at the them.. Lucas is pretty good though.."

Lucas was just on his way back towards his tent from the mess tent and stops hearing his name, he turns and approaches Meg and Eva with a smile.

"Did someone say..." He drops his voice to a guttural and not entirely friendly sounding tone. "Ghost stories?" he grins.

Eva smiles to Lucas.

"was thinking of getting the guys together and sharing some time.. brought smores stuff if you want to get your magic on."

Eva chuckles near silently.

"want a beer or.. or some mead guys?"

Lucas sits around the far side of the fire, having a sip of his coffee.

"None for me just now, got to keep my wits about me if I'm gonna be on my A-game for some talespinning. Now which urban legend to butcher first? Or are you going to make me wait until others get here." he grins.

Eva chuckles softly.

"gotta wait.. should be able to muster some people up to sit an enjoy a little.. seriously these people are hard work to push to enjoy something for a change.. it's not all doom and gloom ya know.."

Eva smiles as she sips her drink

Raine comes by seeing Meg, Eva and Lucas sitting by the fire. She has her sketchbook in her hand.
Did I hear right? Smore's and Mead?
She comes to sit down by herself where the light is good and push her glasses up her nose.

Eva smiles to Raine and waves before she nods.

"OOOoh yuss.. smores and mead baby.. food of the Gods.."

She snickers as she pulls one of the small bottles of mead from it's case and offers it to Raine.

"OH and you have to think of a Ghost story to tell.. we don't have enough fun around here.. about time it changed really.."

Raine grins back at Eva and reaches for the bottle with a nod of thanks.

Ghost stories? What? Are we 13 again and hidin in the treehouse in my backyard? Fock yeah, I'm in. I've got a few of em. I agree though, more fun, less tickle me emo.

She glances sideways at Lucas and smirks

Uhh.. Ye've still got a bit of glitter just there....

She points at her scalp on the right side then points at him

"Go ahead. Keep pokin. You have no fucking idea how lucky you both are that I decided not to participate in this prank war."

Lucas smiles and sips his coffee fishing for a smoke in his cut.

The rust red Fianna lupus walks up out of the woods looking towards the fire and seeing the small gathering present. He grins baring the canines hiding behind his lips as he trots up the silent warder that still accompaning him for the moment right behind following but not coming to close after Windrunner first talk with him about wolves personal space. Windrunner gets up there (ooc: he has heightened senses on hearing).

L> I heard something about mead?

Raine snickers at Lucas and rolls her eyes in an amused manner. She looks to the new Fianna and lifts her mead bottle before opening it.

Couldn't understand a word ye said but I get the intention. There's booze and sweets and stories if'n yer so inclined. How many more should we wait on before startin?

She looks to the others before taking a long drink and setting the bottle by her leg

Windrunner shifts his rage not dimishing as he automatically goes into homid from lupus.

I heard something said about mead. I am always up for a good drink.

Eva smiles to Windrunner.

"Beer or mead hon?"

Her hand reaches to the two small crates waiting for his choice.

"and you have to think of a tale to tell us.. something nice and scary.. i have a flashlight somewhere for effect."

Eva grins a little

Raine picks up and takes a long pull from the bottle, looking at how much is left when she sets it back down by her feet. She pulls her pencil from her ponytail and starts to doodle a face.

I've got one. A true one, not really scarey but down right creepy.

Eva smiles to Raine and leans back against a crate sipping at the mead bottle in her hand as she waits to listen.

"let's hear it.."

She chuckles softly.

Lucas turns his attention to Raine, ready to hear her tale and grateful someone else was going first, it's always better to have a model for comparison and, of course, more time to weave your own lies.

She doesn't look up, just continues with a drawing. She reaches down to finish her mead then she begins

My mentor was Mad Mark Rude, an old punk rocker slash artist slash tattoo artist. He had a sweet little sister name Lisa. She adopted his son Loren, yes.. Mark had a sense of humor. About five years ago or so she came by ta see Mark, tell him how Loren was doin and all. I remember that day. Mark was away at a doctor's appointment. His diabetes and complications from a life of hard drugs was catchin up ta him. Crazy ol focker wouldn't listen when I told him ta stay off the heroin. She stayed for a bit. We talked. She was wearin her favourite summer dress. All sunflowers and violets. She was a lovely woman. Mark was fiercely protective of her. He made sure she wanted fer nothin. She couldn't stay long unfortunately. I saw her ta her car and watched her leave. Mark of course was pissed knowin he'd missed her visit. A month later we got a call that she'd been murdered, raped and dumped in a dumpster. They found her wearing her favourite dress. Needless ta say Mark lost it. He locked himself in his studio fer 2 months. Wouldnt' talk ta anyone though I could of swore I heard talkin in there. Everyone thought he'd gone bugger fock. When he came out he published his book," Armed to the Teeth with Lipstick". After that it went down hill. I kept seein things out of the corner of my eye at the shop. Things seemed ta be moved where I left them. One night while closin up shop I saw Lisa. She was in her dress and waving from the window. I blinked and she moved ta the counters. I backed up and didn't see her until I turned around. She was standing looking very sad at Mark's office. I swear I heard her say something like Goodbye before she faded. A week later we buried Mark. And I never saw her again.

Callum comes out little Skye finnaly asleep he stands off to the side and listens to the tale being told before moving up to the fire with a smile.

Windrunner smiled, "Mead please as to stories I think I know one but give me a moment to remember the correct names of somethings the humans call them."
